How to reach

By Rail: The closest train stations to Kumara Parvatha are Mysore and Hassan. Hubli or Karwar Express or Bengaluru Mysore Express are the trains available on this route. 

By Road: If you are coming from Bengaluru, then hire a taxi and reach the Kukke Temple which is the starting point of the trek in Coorg in night drive. From Coorg you can take a taxi and reach the Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary or Kukke Subramanya. It takes approximately 23 hours from Coorg to reach Kukke or Pushpagiri by road. Go uphill to the top of Kumara Parvatha. 

By Bus: There are two-way buses that go from Bengaluru to Subramanya. The Subramanya bus stop is near the town where the road to Kumara Parvatha begins. Bus tickets can be booked online. from the KSRTC website.

Best time to do

The best time to trek to Kumara Parvatha is from October to January of the following year. In the south, the winter is not severely cold and the hiking conditions are pleasant. In summer, it is not suitable for hiking. Hot and humid, which may be inconvenient for travellers. The monsoon from June to September is also a good time to hike. The climate is pleasant, the vegetation on the mountain is dense, and the flora and fauna are prosperous.

Level of difficulty

The hike to Kumar Parvatha is classified as medium, and the total length of the hike from Kumara Parvatha is approximately 28 kilometres. Places to visit in Kumara Parvatha

Mallalli Falls
